About Muse | Kirwan Architects
Initially established as Muse Architects in 1983, Muse | Kirwan Architects is an office with extensive experience in residential, institutional, commercial, urban design and interior design projects, as well as expertise in sustainable design for all project types. As an office of diverse design professionals with established relationships with all related engineering consultants, Muse | Kirwan Architects provides full services for various scales of architectural commissions.
The firm’s work has received one hundred and seventy design awards, including those from the National, Washington, Maryland, Baltimore, Potomac Valley, and Northern Virginia Chapters of the AIA, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Masonry Institute. In 2007 the office received the Top Firm National Award from Residential Architect magazine “for an outstanding contribution to residential architectural practice.”
The firm’s work has also been reviewed in more than two hundred and fifty architectural books and periodicals, including Architectural Record, Architectural Digest, and The American Home, Design for Living.

Senior Associate
Kuk-Ja received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master of Architecture from the University of Maryland. Kuk-Ja joined the office in 1988 and became an Associate in 1999, and a Senior Associate in 2003.

Warren Short AIA, LEED® AP
Associate
Warren received a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from Southern Tech. Warren joined the office in 1995 and became an Associate in 2003.

Scott Mooney, IIDA, ASID
Associate
Scott received a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Virginia Tech and a Master of Architecture from The Catholic University of America. Scott joined the office in 2013 and became an Associate in 2018.
Architectural Staff

Marc Langhammer
Marc received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Kansas and completed a furniture maker apprenticeship with Charles Shackleton in Vermont. Marc joined the office in 2002, and since 2013 has been collaborating with the office from his home in Portland, Oregon.

Lauren Cannon
Lauren received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture with Engineering from the University of Westminster and a Master of Arts in Architecture from the University of Applied Sciences Cologne. She joined the office in 2017.

Shiri Achu
Shiri received a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies, a Bachelor of Architecture and a Diploma in Architecture: Professional Studies, from the University of Wales, Cardiff. Following employment in London, UK, she joined the office in 2019.

Anil Moore
Anil received a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Architecture from the University of Maryland. He joined the office in 2018.

Yilu Zhang
Yilu received a Bachelor of Engineering in Architecture from the China Academy of Art in 2016 and a Master of Architecture from Syracuse University in 2020. Following employment in Ithaca, NY, he joined the office in 2021.

Michael Smith
Michael received a Master of Arts in Interior Design from George Washington University. Following employment in Washington, DC, he joined the office in 2021.

Soyeon Jeong
Soyeon received a Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Architecture from the
University of Maryland. She joined the office in 2021.

Chris Daly
Chris received a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois and a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. Following employment in Baltimore, MD, he joined the office in 2022.
